On November 27, on her jubilee, Yulia Tymoshenko released the long-awaited album “PRESIDENT”. It was announced to be the last album of her career.
In the finality of the album, its ordinal number, and its title, we can clearly trace symbolism. The thing is, if we had been smarter in 2019 and elected her president, she would have become the last president of Ukraine (and at the same time the first woman president). Why so? Because she wanted to abolish the institution of the presidency and introduce a chancellorship — to become the last president and then the first chancellor. Though why invent anything, prime minister. Everything is cyclical, everything comes back. Her jubilee album perfectly complemented the jubilee of the Leader herself.
Also, our V president was President “Parashenko,” one of the central figures not only of the album, but of the singer’s entire career. I use the Roman numeral V for a reason: it resembles the Latin V, which means “victory.” Remember? “Yulia at the wheel, give me the money… I will win” (). All the symbolism twists itself into a bouquet of meanings around the title alone.
And what about the songs themselves? On one hand, they continue the traditional party line, not being new in their themes: the woman (“Zhynochka”), her struggle against twinks and male politicians (“Brunette”), an ode to power, politics, surreal plots (“Smagazove Sky”)."
